In order for our school to conduct an accelerated course, we keep our student body count to a minimum.  There is a maximum of 3 students at a time per course.  This allows each student to work on horses more often that watching other students work on horses.  We keep an average of 10-15 horses on the school premises for students to work on while Emmet guides the students through the shoeing process.  Expect to work on a large variety of horses ranging from backyard horses all the way up to your World Class Show Horses.  These sessions assure that you will be on your way to becoming a confident and qualified farrier.

A "tool package" is included in the 4 week course (professional farrier).  Additional tools are available for purchase upon request.

EXPECT TO LEARN THE SKILLS & TECHNIQUES OF MASTERING THIS TRADE

We also guide our students on how to obtain and keep a professional and trusting relationship with their clients.  You will see these clients on a rotation ranging from every 4 to 8 weeks depending on the way you schedule your clients and depending on the needs of your client's horses.

Knowing the proper use of farriers tools and equipment ensures good quality work.  You will learn to recognize such tools of this trade and how to use them properly.  A "tool package" is provided to students that attend the 4 week course:

Two (2) Rasp Handles

Two (2) Hoof Knives (left hand and right hand)

One (1) 14" or 15" Hoof Nippers

One (1) pair Pull-offs

One (1) pair Clinchers

One (1) Rounding Hammer

There is no extra charge for this "Tool Package" as it is included in our 4 week course and you will receive this package once you attend our school.  If you are not taking our 4 week course and would like to purchase this tool package, your cost is only $ 500.00 (prices subject to change).  For information on how to purchase this package, please contact our office by phone or email.

ACCOMMODATIONS

Bunkhouse  on  premises  contains  mini - fridge, gas stove, microwave  oven,  coffee  maker,  toaster, and TV w/ DVD & VCR.

Students are to provide their own food, drinks, bedding & pillows, towels & toiletries, etc.

CHECK-IN TIME:     Sundays, anytime between 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM.  Please call and advise us

if you intend to arrive on Monday morning @ 7:30 AM instead of Sunday evening.

Cashiers Checks and Money Orders.

NOTE:  If paying by credit card, please be sure to contact your credit card company to advise them of your purchase before we process your transaction.  Most credit card companies require verification from the cardholder for transactions over a certain amount before they will approve the transaction.

ALL credit card purchases must be processed and approved before student begins their first day.

We cannot accept Credit Card Checks nor Personal Checks over $250.00.
